Hammond High's Winter Concert Dec. 13

The Hammond High School music department will hold its Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 in the school auditorium.

The Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Orchestra, Concert Choir and the Madrigals will perform.

Near-death studies group to meet tomorrow at APL

The International Association of Near Death Studies of Maryland will meet from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow in the main cafeteria of the Applied Physics Laboratory, Building No. 1, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, North Laurel.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Holiday open house: Historic Savage Mill, 8600 Foundry St., Savage, will hold Holiday Open House 2001 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The mill's holiday trees contest will be held at 7 p.m. today. Music and other entertainment and a silent auction are planned. The groups Cerulean Groove and Bicycle Thieves will perform at 9:30 p.m. today at Rams Head Tavern in the mill.

Nature detectives: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will offer a two-part program for ages 16 and older, "Basics of Birding," from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow and 8:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the refuge's National Wildlife Visitor Center, on Powder Mill Road between the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Route 197. Savage Historical Society: Savage Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Faith & Ministry Center of Savage United Methodist Church, Baltimore and Foundry streets.
