Learn how to make a gingerbread house

Learn how to make gingerbread houses Sunday at Mount Clare Mansion. Visitors will assist Sally Johnston in constructing houses with gingerbread, candy and icing. Children may also decorate gingerbread men and gingerbread women. In addition, visitors can learn the history of gingerbread, which traces back to medieval Europe. Tours of Mount Clare will be offered at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Clare Mansion, 1500 Washington Blvd. $5; $3 students; $1 ages 12 and under. Call 410-837-3262.

`Patriotic Show and Tell'

Show off some of your American pride, literally, at the "Patriotic Show and Tell" event Sunday at the Baltimore County Historical Society. The public is invited to bring in U.S. military items, such as medals, uniforms, letters, photos and books, and share the stories behind them. Items can be from any period in American history. Visitors do not need to show an item to attend the event.

"Patriotic Show and Tell" takes place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Baltimore County Historical Society, at the Almshouse, 9811 Van Buren Lane, Cockeysville. Free. Call 410-666-1878.
