County's best cheerleader loves his sport

The student: Kenney Gillus, 15

School: Oakland Mills High

Special achievement: Kenney was chosen as the best varsity cheerleader in the county at the Howard County Cheerleading Championships in March.

On being a male cheerleader: Kenney said he gets teased, but adds, "I love the sport so much, nobody's going to stop me from doing what I love to do."

The best part of cheerlead- ing: "I really love being able to participate in different competitions because you are able to represent your school and compete besides just cheering at games."

His plans: Kenney wants to go to college and major in either dance or law.
