Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southern District

Robbery: A tow-truck driver was outside his rig and about to tow a Mercedes-Benz from a parking lot in the 500 block of Russell St. about 2 p.m. Sunday when a man asked him for a cigarette. Before the driver responded, the man got into the truck and drove off - towing away the Mercedes with Massachusetts tags 8585K.

Southeastern District

Robbery: A woman, 36, was walking in the 500 block of S. Chester St. about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when a man stole her 35 mm camera valued at $500.

Western District

Burglary: While the male occupant of a house in the 1000 block of N. Stricker St. was away between Oct. 21 and Nov. 4, someone entered and stole the front door, water heater, a sink and the basement door - all valued at nearly $1,000.

Northwestern District

Burglary: A lawn mower was stolen from a shed in the 3800 block of Menlo Drive between Oct. 28 and Sunday.

Southwestern District

Assault/arrest: A girl and her boyfriend were arguing in the 3100 block of W. North Ave. about 7 p.m. Sunday when he struck her in the face, then threw her shoes onto the roof of a church. The man was arrested and charged with assault.

Northern District

Robbery: A woman, 80, was walking in the 1900 block of Maryland Ave. about 9 a.m. Sunday when a man pushed her to the ground and stole her purse containing personal property and a Bible.

Baltimore County

Cockeysville Precinct

Theft: A 12-gauge Remington shotgun valued at $230 was stolen Sunday from the cab of a Ford pickup truck parked in the 1400 block of White Hall Road.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: An undisclosed sum of currency and coins was stolen overnight Saturday from poker machines, lottery machines and a cash register at Players Club in the 1400 block of Reisterstown Road.

For the record

Victim named: Detective Dennis Raftery said Matthew Boyd 4th, 25, of the 600 block of Cater Ave., was identified yesterday as the man found shot to death Sunday in an apartment building in the 4200 block of Parkton St. in Yale Heights. No arrest had been made.
