November 05, 2001

City police were investigating two unrelated shootings yesterday that left three unidentified men dead.

No arrests had been made and police knew of no motive in either case.

In the latest incident, the body of a man who had been shot in the head was found shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday in a house in the 4200 block of Parkton St. in the Yale Heights section of Southwest Baltimore.

In the other shooting, police responded about 4 a.m. yesterday to a reported fight between two men and at least two other men outside the Sinclair Gate Apartments in the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane. When police arrived, witnesses led them across the street to the Parkside Gardens Apartments in the 5100 block of Lodestone Way in East Baltimore. There, they found one man lying in a second-floor stairwell bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds and another dead, several feet away inside a third-floor apartment.

Detective Jack McGrath said the man on the stairs died about 4 p.m. yesterday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
