Baltimore County police are investigating the killing of an 80-year-old Dundalk man and are questioning a man apprehended yesterday in Pennsylvania.

Family members found Harry R. Gorge, 80, of the 7600 block of Old Battle Grove Road dead in his home about 6:35 a.m. yesterday, police said. He died of traumatic injuries, police said.

County police detectives went to Cedar Crest, Pa., yesterday to question Jason H. Gorge, 22, of Baltimore, who had been arrested earlier yesterday morning in Fogelsville, Pa., after slashing himself and charging at officers, police said.

He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Cedar Crest, where he was in critical condition after surgery.

Baltimore County police declined to say whether the Gorges were related but said they knew each other.

The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department in Pennsylvania responded about 5:30 a.m. yesterday to a call about a domestic disturbance at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Fogelsville. When officers arrived, they found Jason Gorge carrying a large knife and covered in blood, Berks-Lehigh police said.

Police said Gorge began stabbing himself in the chest with the knife, then charged police officers, who struck him in the thigh with a shot of beanbag, causing him to drop the knife.

Berks-Lehigh police charged Gorge with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
