Baltimore County car crash kills Harford teen, injures two others

October 28, 2001

Baltimore County police are investigating a car crash Friday night that killed a 16-year-old Harford County boy and sent two other teen-agers in the car to Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

The crash occurred at 9:42 p.m. in the 12300 block of Philadelphia Road -- just over the Harford County line -- when Chirag Pankaj Kothari lost control of the Jeep Cherokee that he was driving and struck a tree on the road's westbound shoulder, police said. The front-seat passenger, Anthony Leroy Williams, of the 100 block of Avondale Court in Abingdon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kothari, 16, of the 800 block of Tiffany Trail in Abingdon was listed yesterday in critical condition. The back-seat passenger, Gregory Anello, 17, of the 200 block of High Terrace in Abingdon was listed in serious but stable condition.
