Prosecutors drop charges against man in robbery

October 26, 2001

Anne Arundel County prosecutors have dropped charges against a 49-year-old man who had been accused of robbing a Harundale bank last month, authorities said yesterday.

Todd Jeffrey Ocus, who spent nearly three weeks in the county Detention Center after being charged in the holdup Sept. 27 of First Union Bank at 7700 Ritchie Highway, was released Monday after prosecutors, noting a lack of evidence, dropped the armed robbery and weapons charges against him, said Kristin Riggin, a spokeswoman for the county state's attorney's office.

Ocus was arrested Oct. 2 after witnesses to the robbery were shown a photo lineup and identified him as a suspect, according to police reports.
