Dunbar (5-0) at No. 12 City (6-0)

When: 3:45

Outlook: This clash of Baltimore City teams carries playoff implications. Dunbar, coming off an upset loss at Carver, is second in the East Region. The Poets could overtake Forest Park, which it still must play, as the overall top seed in the Class 1A. City could solidify its spot as the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A standings. It is No. 1 in 2A North.

Forest Park (5-1) at Edmondson (3-3)

When: 3:45

Outlook: Visiting Forest Park has won four straight games, all by shutout, and goes after career win No. 115 for coach Obie Barnes. The Foresters are the overall No. 1 seed in the chase for a Class 1A state playoff berth, and can further solidify that position with a win. Edmondson, coached by Pete Pompey (195 career wins), has little hope of reaching the playoffs after having been state runner-up and semifinalist the past two seasons. The Redskins are trying to avoid going below .500 for the first time since 1997.

Mervo (4-2) vs. No. 15 Patterson (5-1)

When: 7

Where: Patterson Park

Outlook: Patterson, coached by Roger Wrenn, bounced Edmondson last week to rebound from an 18-13 loss to No. 12 City. The Clippers also made Wrenn No. 1 among the city's active coaches with 196 career victories, and took over the top position in the 4A North Region. They are fourth seed in the race for a 4A playoff berth. Mervo's slim hopes of reaching the 4A playoffs for the second time would dim further with a loss here. Mervo's only chance of qualifying is to win the region, and that starts with defeating Patterson.
