A 27-year-old man was critically injured yesterday when he fell out of a tree he was trimming in the Pasadena area, Anne Arundel County fire officials reported.

Henry Porter of Millersville was removing branches and limbs from a large tree in a wooded area off Nabbs Creek Road near the 7600 block of Waterwood Trail about 8:15 a.m. He was about 30 feet up when he lost his balance and fell, said Fire Capt. Lee Cornwell.

An ambulance from the Marley Volunteer Fire Company brought Porter to Solley Elementary School, where he was transferred to a state police helicopter that flew him to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Porter was admitted in critical condition with head, neck, back and internal injuries, Cornwell said.
