No. 1 McDonogh (5-0) vs. No. 14 St. Mary's (5-0)

Where: Weems Whalen Field

Outlook: McDonogh QB Joe Benson, RB Eric Hamilton and DL Shomari Taylor lead the Eagles as they go after their 16th straight win. St. Mary's has outscored the opposition, 152-23, with two shutouts. The host Saints' defense is led by LB-PK James Hyland, DT Roger Calisch and DT-TE Brendan Teigue.

No. 13 Dunbar (5-0) at Carver (3-2)

When: 3:30

Outlook: The visiting Poets have outscored their opposition, 211-34. . Carver, an earlier upset winner over then-No. 10 Mervo, is dangerous offensively and defensively, led by QB Kenard Fraction.

Patterson (4-1) at Edmonson (3-2)

When: 3:30

Outlook: The city's two winningest coaches, Patterson's Roger Wrenn and Edmondson's Pete Pompey, face off. Visiting coach Wrenn, in his 29th season, and Pompey, in his 28th, are tied for the lead with 197 career victories.


Dundalk (3-2) at No. 8 Randallstown (4-1)

When: 1

Outlook: The Owls (3-1 league) always seem to play their best against the Rams (4-0 league). Second-team All-Metro DL Randy Vince leads Randallstown, which has won four straight games and beaten its conference opponents by a combined 144-12 with two shutouts. Dundalk comes off last week's 27-13 win over Dulaney.

Calvert Hall (3-2) at No. 4 Gilman (3-3)

When: 3:30

Outlook: Calvert Hall (1-1 league) comes off last week's 25-21 upset of then-No. 10 Mount St. Joseph, a team Gilman defeated, 35-14. Gilman (1-0 league) had its three-game winning streak ended, 18-15, by Brooklyn (N.Y.) Poly Prep, a team ranked No. 11 nationally by USA Today.
