St. Paul's Lutheran will honor senior members Oct. 21

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will hold its "Bless the Years" celebration to recognize the "gift of life" at the church's worship services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at the church, 308 Oak Manor Drive, Glen Burnie. The Rev. Paul T. Dannenfeldt, pastor emeritus of the church, will speak, and senior members of the church will serve as greeters, readers, ushers and communion assistants. Special recognition will be given to those ages 80 and older.

A luncheon for adults 55 and older will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 in the church's fellowship hall. The Rev. Michael Burt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Annapolis, will speak. Reservations for the luncheon should be made by tomorrow, and offerings will be accepted to cover the cost of the lunch. Information: 410-766-2283.

Asbury United Methodist to hold annual craft fair

Asbury United Methodist Church's 12th annual craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the church's fellowship hall, 78 Church Road, Arnold. Several crafters from the community will offer items including needlework, gift baskets, Christmas decorations, painted wood crafts and hand-carved waterfowl. There will also be a silent auction and home-baked goods.

Proceeds will benefit the church, and 10 percent will go toward mission outreach. Information: 410-974-0879.

Choir performance: The Children's Choir of Bratislava will perform at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 461 College Parkway in Annapolis and at 8 p.m. at Annapolis Senior High School, 2700 Riva Road. Donations will be accepted at the door. Information: 410-647-7494.

Sour beef: St. John Lutheran Church of Brooklyn has scheduled a sour beef and roast beef dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow in the church's social hall, 226 Washburn Ave. at Third Street, Baltimore. Religious lecture: The Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church is offering a free three-week lecture series at 7:30 p.m. Mondays beginning Monday in the church's fellowship hall, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park. Shrimp and roast beef: Friendship United Methodist Church has scheduled a farm heritage show with a shrimp and roast beef dinner from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, Route 2 and Friendship Road. The show will include hayrides, antique farm equipment, displays and demonstrations. Cost is $14 for adults, $6.50 for children ages 4 to 10. Children 3 and younger eat for free. Church performance: St. Martin's-In-the-Field church will present a program, "Women of the Bible, Alive!" at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the church, 375 Benfield Road, Severna Park. Carryout dinner: Brooklyn United Methodist Church will cook a carryout dinner of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, bread and dessert for $6 on Oct. 19. Dinners, which must be ordered by Tuesday, can be picked up in Room 200 in the Education Building of the church, Fourth Street and Pontiac Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the church. Harvest bazaar: Galilee Lutheran Church will hold its annual harvest bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the church, 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Covered dish: Ferndale United Methodist Church will hold a covered-dish luncheon at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21 at the church, 117 Ferndale Road, Glen Burnie. The luncheon is being held for its missionary family, which just returned from Africa. Information: 410-761-2880.
