Providence Center invites public to tour facility, meet staff

Providence Center Inc., a center for people older than age 50 who have developmental disabilities, will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the center, 8149-A Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Participants will have the opportunity to meet the staff and tour the facility. No reservations are required.

South County center offers free jewelry classes

South County Senior Center has scheduled a free jewelry class from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for six consecutive Fridays beginning Oct. 19 at the center, 27 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater. Instructor Denise Wolf will discuss with students the history of costume jewelry, how to recognize high-quality jewelry, and the design and construction of jewelry.

O'Malley center plans Halloween party Oct. 31

O'Malley Senior Center invites people age 55 and older to a Halloween party at 10 a.m. Oct. 31 at the center, 1275 Odenton Road. The event will feature a performance by a magician, pumpkin carving and prizes for the best costume. A brunch, including scrambled egg casserole, sausage patties, hash browns, English muffins, fruit, juice and milk, will be served at 11:30 a.m. Donations will be accepted.

Flower guild: The Flower and Herb Guild at O'Malley Senior Center will meet from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at the center, 1275 Odenton Road. The topic will be "Antiques and Junktiques in the Garden." Dinner theater: Annapolis Senior Center has scheduled a trip to see a performance of It's a Wonderful Life Nov. 14 at Timonium Dinner Theatre in Baltimore County. The $45 cost includes a buffet. Payment is due by Oct. 24. A bus will leave at 9:45 a.m. from the center. Information: 410-222-1818.
