Tonight's game

October 08, 2001

St. Louis (3-0) at Detroit (0-2)

Time: 9 p.m., chs. 2, 7.

Line: Rams by 14.

Ken Murray's outlook: Lions QB Ty Detmer will have to protect the ball better than his last outing (seven interceptions) or this game will get ugly very quickly. Coming off a bye, the Lions have had time to regroup, but it won't matter. They can't run the ball or stop the run. And they certainly can't match the Rams' explosive offense. St. Louis' No. 2-ranked offense throttled a very good Miami defense last week; it could put up gaudy numbers this week.
