Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Drug arrests: After making controlled drug buys earlier, police arrested 20 people last night in raids at five dwellings in the Eastern and Southeastern districts. Seized were a 9 mm handgun, $3,300 in cash, heroin, cocaine and marijuana, and drug packaging material. All 20 were charged with multiple drug violations.

Bank robbery: A man robbed the Highlandtown branch of Provident Bank of Maryland in Santoni's Market in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. about 10:30 a.m. Sunday of an undisclosed sum of money. The robber warned a teller he was armed with a handgun and that the box he carried contained a bomb. No gun or bomb was displayed.

Robbery try: A gunman ordered a check-out clerk at Walgreen's in the 4000 block of Eastern Ave. to give him money about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, but fled when the employee had trouble opening the cash register. Before the gunman left the store he struck a witness with the gun. The gunman and an accomplice waiting outside were being sought.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A woman was about to enter her silver-colored 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-320 in the 4600 block of Edmondson Ave. about 7:30 p.m. Monday when a gunman demanded her keys. After taking the keys from the woman and allowing her to remove her daughter from the car, the gunman drove off in the vehicle that had tags GKR 124.

Burglary/vandalism: After breaking into a trailer at Fulton Auto Sales in the 2300 block of Wilkens Ave. between Saturday and Monday, someone stole 12 sets of wheel covers valued at nearly $500. The intruder also shattered the windows of three cars and damaged a surveillance camera.

Northeastern District

Arrest: After arresting a man at his home in the 3000 block of The Alameda on an assault warrant, police observed nearly 100 capsules of heroin in a room. Also charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute was 48-year-old Carroll Jones.

Eastern District

Robbery: A man, 40, was in the 1700 block of N. Bradford St. about 1:30 a.m. Monday when a man known to him as "Culty" struck him on the head with a hammer and robbed him of a car jack and several tools.

Baltimore County

Woodlawn Precinct

Carjacking: Police were seeking a man who forced a driver of a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero at the Amoco station in the 1900 block of N. Rolling Road about 1:15 a.m. Sunday at gunpoint and drove off. A short time later, Baltimore police spotted the car but were unable to catch the driver after he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary/arrest: Police searching for a man who broke into a house in the 4700 block of Ridge Road through a basement door found a suspect hiding in a crawl space Monday morning. When the man refused to surrender, a police dog was unleashed and located him. The man surrendered after the dog bit him. Police said Matthew Dawson, 31, of no fixed address was charged with burglary.
