Woman recovers purse taken outside Eldersburg store

A Sykesville woman recovered her purse from a man who grabbed it from the front seat of her vehicle while she was loading groceries outside Martin's Food Market in Eldersburg on Sunday morning, police said.

The woman, 33, told police she ran after the man and grabbed her purse outside the store in the 6300 block of Georgetown Blvd.

She told them he pushed her to the ground and threw the purse toward the store and fled.

She told them she had noticed a white Mustang parked in front of her 1996 GMC Jimmy when the incident occurred about 9:30 a.m.

The man was described as white and in his 20s, about 5 feet 5 inches and 140 pounds, with sores on his face. He was wearing a tan flannel shirt or coat, and driving a white 1993 Ford Mustang with Maryland license plate HED 274.
