Blue Jays update
Toronto has beaten the Orioles in eight of their past nine meetings and holds a 10-6 edge this season. The upcoming three-game series was rescheduled after the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and begins the final week of Cal Ripken's career. The Blue Jays had lost four in a row before winning yesterday. They are 2 1/2 behind the Boston Red Sox for second place in the American League East. They had scored only four runs in their past three games before scoring six yesterday. Johnson picked up the first two complete games of his career against the Blue Jays this season, but lost both of them. In his third start, he allowed five runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings to lose again. Lyon has beaten the Orioles twice, holding them to two runs and seven hits in 13 1/3 innings.
