September 27, 2001

ABERDEEN - A Harford County man was killed Tuesday night after his motorcycle crossed the center line on Carsins Run Road and struck a car, the Harford County sheriff's office said.

Joseph Clay Wood, 29, of the 400 block of Hurdle Court in Bel Air was riding his 1993 Honda motorcycle south at a high speed near Stepney Road when he ran head-on into a vehicle driven by Robert James Schafer of Montreal Drive in Aberdeen, said Cpl. J. Keith Warner, a department spokesman.

Wood was pronounced dead at the scene, Warner said. Schafer was not injured.
