Middle school admission directors available

The Chesapeake Academy will hold a fair for prospective middle school students from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at the academy, 1185 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Arnold.

Admission directors from area private schools will be available to answer questions and share information about their schools.

Participating schools include Annapolis Area Christian School, Severn School, Queen Anne School, Indian Creek School, Friends School and Bryn Mawr School.

Fourth- and fifth-grade students and their parents are welcome to attend.

Bird Feeding 101 offered at B&A Trail

Join Ranger Adam Smith for a presentation, "Bird Feeding 101," at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at the B&A Trail, 51 W. Earleigh Heights Road, Severna Park.

Smith will present a short slide show about birds that feed in Anne Arundel County, and he will talk about the "do's and don'ts" of bird feeding and outwitting squirrels.

Various bird feeders will be on display, and suet-peanut butter feeders will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails.

The hour-long program is intended for those 8 and older. An adult must accompany children. Information: 410-222-6244.
