Ex-volunteer firefighter enters guilty plea to second-degree arson

A former Manchester volunteer firefighter pleaded guilty to second-degree arson yesterday in an April fire at a vacant house in the town.

Joshua Spicer, 19, will be held at Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster until his sentencing Dec. 19. He also was ordered yesterday to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Spicer originally was charged with eight counts in the fire in the 3200 block of York St.
