September 21, 2001

Joseph V. Maggitti, a Harford County businessman whose company had its headquarters in the World Trade Center's north tower, was among the victims of last week's New York terrorist attack.

Mr. Maggitti, 47, was a vice president of Marsh USA Inc. He lived in Abingdon with his wife, Pamela A. Kortesis Maggitti, and their children, Christopher and Lauren. He coached youth baseball and soccer for the Emmorton Recreation Council.

He graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in business and had been a member of the school's Bee Booters soccer team that won the NCAA Division II Championship that year, according to information provided by his family.
