Knights of Columbus Father McGivney Council No. 7025 of Glen Burnie will sponsor an Oktoberfest celebration from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 29 at the council, 7025 McGivney Way. The event will feature knockwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad, German music and German costumes.
The event is open to those age 21 and older. The cost is $8 for singles and $15 for couples. No tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds will go to local charities. Information: 410-760-9764.
Internet training for adults to be offered at libraries
Registration begins today for "Click Here," Anne Arundel County Public Library's free Internet and library Web catalog training class for adults at branches including the North County branch at 1010 Eastway, Glen Burnie.
The 90-minute beginners class is designed for people with little or no computer experience. It will teach the basics of using the mouse, finding a book or magazine article, placing a item request and using the Internet. Class size is limited to nine people. A county library card must be presented when signing up for the class.
Beginner classes are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5 and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6; intermediate classes will take place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 4 and from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6.

Deployment: Marine Corps Pfc. Kon H. Lee, nephew of Chong Ho Lee of Glen Burnie, is on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Lee, a 1997 graduate of Meade High School, joined the Marine Corps in April last year.
Deployment: Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Vito V. Ferrara III, son of Rebecca A. Minoglio of Glen Burnie and Vito V. Ferrara Jr. of Pasadena is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Stout, based in Portsmouth, Va. Ferrara joined the Navy in March 1999.
Bull roast: The Friends of Sen. James E. DeGrange Sr. will hold its seventh annual family bull, oyster and shrimp feast from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie. The cost is $35 per person, free for children age 6 and younger. Tickets: 410- 766-2762.
