Blue Jays update

These teams will try to refocus on baseball after last week's terrorist attacks. The Orioles have lost their past six games against Toronto, including a three-game sweep at SkyDome in early August. They also lost three at Camden Yards later in the month by a combined score of 19-1. Another sweep would return the Blue Jays to .500. Their record is better on the road (36-35) than home (34-38). Only Atlanta and San Diego can relate. The Blue Jays won't make the playoffs, but they're only three games behind Boston for second place in the AL East, so there's some motivation. Johnson's first two career complete games have come against the Blue Jays this season. He's lost them both, 3-1 and 5-0, to Carpenter. Escobar tossed a five-hit shutout against the Orioles on Aug. 25, when Maduro lasted only 3 1/3 innings in a 9-0 loss. Towers hasn't won since Aug. 17 in Boston. The Orioles, meanwhile, have one victory in their past 15 games.
