Baltimore man, 19, dies after fall at Rocks State Park

JARRETTSVILLE -- A 19-year-old Baltimore man died yesterday morning after falling 60 to 80 feet at a popular but dangerous rock-climbing spot at Rocks State Park near Jarrettsville.

Jason R. Johnson of the 3300 block of Kenyon Ave. slipped and fell from the King and Queen Seat about 4:15 a.m. after he and three friends hiked there to watch the sun rise, said John Surrick, a Maryland Department of Natural Resources spokesman.

Man in critical condition after motorcycle crash

DETOUR -- A 20-year-old Frederick County man remained in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday after his motorcycle ran off a road and struck large rocks Saturday, the county sheriff's office said.

Shane Paul Miller of Woodsboro was operating a 1989 Honda motorcycle about 7:30 p.m. when it ran off Haughs Church Road in Detour, and he was thrown from the bike by the impact.

Brothers sentenced in cocaine operation

GREENBELT -- Two Maryland brothers have been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison each for their roles in dealing cocaine and crack cocaine, while the girlfriend of one of them was imprisoned for money laundering.

James Tillman, 27, of Severn received a sentence of 26 years and 10 months Friday from U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams Jr. His brother, Jamerson Tillman, 25, of Greenbelt, was sentenced to 25 years and one month.

Tammy Williams, 23, who was Jamerson Tillman's girlfriend, was given three years after pleading guilty to money laundering.
