Blast opens new year, new league at home on Oct. 20

44-game regular season starts with Heat's visit

The Blast opens its regular season Oct. 20 at home against the Harrisburg Heat, the team announced yesterday.

This season, the team plays in the new Major Indoor Soccer League after the disbanding of the National Professional Soccer League. The MISL has six teams this season - the Blast, Heat, Philadelphia KiXX, Cleveland Crunch, Milwaukee Wave and Kansas City Comets. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs at the end of the season.

The Blast's 44-game schedule includes 22 home games and one neutral-site game, against the KiXX in Nashville, Tenn.
