Maryland State Fair

MARYLAND SCENE

September 02, 2001|By Sloane Brown

When all the spinning and whirling on all the midway rides at the Maryland State Fair's "Ride Mania" night became a bit too much, the Vista Room in the fairgrounds administration building provided a peaceful refuge for some 100 folks. At the "VIP Party for Maryland State Fair Sponsors," they could relax and enjoy a buffet that included carved roast beef and crabcakes. To the relief of many parents who had brought their young children, the spread also included fresh fruits and veggies -- providing some balance to the cotton candy and corn dogs their kids had consumed outside.
