Robert E. Trimyer, 66, Control Data manager
Robert E. Trimyer, a former manager with the Beltsville office of Control Data Corp., died Friday at the Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center. He was 66 and had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Trimyer and his wife of 42 years, Mildred Collins Trimyer, had lived in Timonium for the past two years. Before that, they were residents of Laurel for 20 years.
He was a native of Atlanta, and had served in the Korean War aboard the USS Hancock. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1964.
Mr. Trimyer had worked with Control Data for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was active in Faith Baptist Church in Laurel, serving as deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, boating and bowling.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodbrook Baptist Church, 25 Stevenson Lane, Towson.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Trimyer is survived by daughters Kathy Baker of Lutherville and Sandy Towers of Miami Beach; three sisters, Peggy Noblitt of Tennessee, Dorothy Emerson of Texas and Jacquelyn Mallard of Georgia; and three granddaughters.
