Reward is offered in string of robberies at Md., Pa. banks

June 27, 2001

A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in a string of armed bank robberies in Keymar and southern Pennsylvania, Maryland State Police said yesterday.

Police said they believe the five bank robberies in Carroll County and Pennsylvania's Adams and Franklin counties are linked because of similarities in suspect descriptions and other details.

The most recent robbery was June 12 at F & M Bank in Keymar. Police did not disclose the amount of money taken in the incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maryland State Police, 410-386-3000; Pennsylvania State Police, 717-264-5161; or FBI Special Agent Lane Betts, 301-644- 3460.
