Community college's school program expands

June 21, 2001

Carroll County public schools and Carroll Community College strengthened a partnership yesterday that allows high school students to get a head start on college.

College President Faye Pappalardo and interim schools Superintendent Charles I. Ecker signed an agreement that will enable Carroll high school students to obtain advance standing in specific programs at the community college. They renewed partnerships in the child care, drafting and computer technology programs, while forging new ones in media and communications technology and the technical support and networking disciplines.

Students who complete a specified course sequence can apply those courses toward three to 14 credits at the community college.
