Joey Atas

A sophomore, Atas already has compiled an impressive resume of accomplishments. The Baltimore City/County Player of the Year last year as a freshman, Atas went 13-0 this season, defeating Gilman junior Justin Rofel, 6-3, 6-1, to win his second MIAA A Conference No. 1 singles title. It was also the second year Atas has gone undefeated. Ranked as high as No. 20 nationally in the 14-under division, Atas also helped Calvert Hall win its first conference title since 1985.

Atholton, track and field

The senior topped off a year during which she won every long jump and high jump event she competed in by claiming three gold medals at the Class 2A state meet on Saturday at UMBC. Wall captured the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 6 inches, the high jump with a mark of 5-2, and the triple jump with a distance of 37-4.5. Wall, who also placed second in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 15.65 seconds, accounted for 38 of the Raiders' 90 meet-winning points. A National Merit Scholar finalist, Wall will attend Brown this fall.
