County offices to be closed tomorrow for holiday

Carroll County Government offices will be closed tomorrow for Memorial Day.

Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Northern Landfill and the Recycling Center will be closed tomorrow and will reopen Tuesday.

Carroll County public libraries, schools and senior centers also will be closed tomorrow.

Public Works announces road construction projects

The Carroll County Department of Public Works has announced road construction projects for this week.

For information on the projects listed below, call the Bureau of Engineering at 410-386-2171.

Watersville Road from Gillis Falls Road to the Howard County line, pipe work.

Watersville Road West from Route 27 to Watersville Road, pipe work.

Brangels Road at Jenna Estates, road widening.

Reese Road from Route 140 to Carrollton Road, paving and shoulder work.

Woodbine Road from Route 26 to the Howard County line, surface restoration.

Sir Richard Court from Lawndale Road to the cul-de-sac, paving patches.

Lady Ester Way from Sir Richard Court to the cul-de-sac, paving patches.

Commissioners meeting scheduled for broadcast

The Carroll County commissioners have begun videotaping some of their staff meetings to keep residents informed of the workings of the county government.

The meeting the commissioners held Thursday will be broadcast at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow and at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

College chief to address Literacy Council meeting

The Literacy Council of Carroll County will hold its annual meeting at 7:15 p.m. June 11 at Westminster United Methodist Church.

Faye Pappalardo, president of Carroll Community College, will speak.

Desserts and beverages will be served.

The church is at 162 E. Main St.

Reservations are required by June 4.
