A Harford County woman was killed yesterday when the car she was driving on northbound Jarrettsville Pike veered into the opposite lane and struck a utility pole, state police said.

Mary Oliver, 68, of the 1600 block of Cynthia Ave. in Jarrettsville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 5 p.m., said Trooper John Sawa. He said Oliver, who was alone, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo north in the 3400 block of Jarrettsville Pike, south of Pocock Road, when the accident occurred.
