Twins update

Minnesota has been the small-market team that made it big, continuing to lead the American League Central with the second-best winning percentage in the majors. The Twins' starters lead the majors in ERA - it was 3.25 before yesterday's 5-3 win over Boston. Even more unusual, Minnesota has outhomered its opponents 42-33. Doug Mientkiewicz, a huge disappointment last season, hit his ninth yesterday. The Twins took two of three from the Orioles last month at the Metrodome, with Redman limiting them to two runs in seven innings to post his first win. Mays won the opener while also allowing two runs in seven innings, with Mercedes taking his fourth loss despite going the distance. He gave up five runs in the first inning.
