Women's Div. I semifinals

Maryland (21-0) vs. Princeton (14-4)

Site: Homewood Field, Johns Hopkins

Time: 6 p.m.

Seeds: Maryland, No. 1; Princeton, No. 5

Outlook: A rematch of last year's national title game has the Terps looking for a berth in the championship for the eighth straight year. The last time the Terps did not win the national championship, 1994, they lost to the Tigers in the final. That was the last time the Tigers beat the Terps, although they came close with their slowdown game on April 25, falling 7-6 on a Jen Adams goal with 1:21 left. The Tigers, who lost last year's title game, 16-8, are led by Lauren Simone (37 goals, 21 assists), Kim Smith (36, 6), and Julie Shaner (20, 20). The Terps have four players with more than 55 points - Adams (84, 53), Quinn Carney (47, 25), Allison Comito (42, 28), and Courtney Hobbs (40, 18).

Georgetown (16-2) vs. Loyola (15-4)

Site: Homewood Field, Johns Hopkins

Time: 8:30 p.m.

Seeds: Georgetown, No. 3; Loyola, No. 8

Outlook: The Greyhounds return to the final four for the fifth time in eight years and face a first-time semifinalist in the Big East champs. Fresh off their quarterfinal upset at No. 2 Duke, the Greyhounds will rely on tough team defense to hold down the Hoyas' prolific attack, led by Big East Attack Player of the Year Sheehan Stanwick (70 goals, 36 assists). The Greyhounds boast a balanced attack led by Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year Stacey Morlang (59, 21), Lauren Peck (32, 16) and Megan Santacroce (29, 16). But the postseason story for the Greyhounds has been defense, anchored by All-America goalie Tricia Dabrowski, who allows just 6.78 goals a game.
