North Carroll music group to perform spring concert May 23

North Carroll High School Ensemble will present its spring choral concert at 7:30 p.m. May 23 at the school in Hampstead.

The group's last performance of the year will be at 7:30 p.m. June 5, also at the school, 1400 Panther Drive. Both concerts are open to the public.

The ensemble performed May 4 in the Williamsburg Virginia Heritage Festival, where it received a silver rating. The award was presented May 5 at a ceremony at Busch Gardens Theme Park.

The travel choir and ensemble will participate June 2 in the Music in the Parks Festival in Hershey, Pa.

Church plans yard sale and flea market June 2

Grace United Methodist Church of Hampstead will hold a yard sale and flea market from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2 on the church parking lot.

Items for the sale will be accepted at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 29 and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 30.

Anyone with items to donate the day of the sale is asked to tag them.

Food and a bake table will be available.

Proceeds benefit the church's mission trip to North Carolina.

Manchester Elementary: Fourth-grade pupils will participate in activities as part of "Miss Betty's Colonial Trunk" on Friday. Pupils will make Colonial crafts, such as cornhusk dolls and hand-dipped candles, and play games.
