Yankees update

The Orioles will try to avenge a four-game sweep by the Yankees at Camden Yards. The first step brings them to Mussina, who posted a 2-1 victory in Sunday's series finale. Left-handers are batting .167 against him, compared with .330 by right-handers. The Yankees' streak of 17 straight games with a stolen base ended in Tuesday's loss to Minnesota. They are leading the majors in steals with 42 and are attempting to finish first in that category for the first time since 1938. Their bullpen hasn't suffered from the loss of right-handed set-up man Jeff Nelson to free agency. Yankees relievers have allowed one run in their past 21 1/3 innings. New York is 16-0 when leading after eight innings this year and 574-20 since the start of the 1994 season.-- Roch Kubatko
