TV and stage actress to perform Broadway hits at fund-raiser

Television and stage actress-singer Deborah Tranelli will be the headliner in a fund-raising evening of Broadway music tomorrow at Mayo United Methodist Church in Edgewater.

Tranelli - whose television credits include a decade on "Dallas," and appearances on "Law and Order," "Hart to Hart" and "Three's Company" - has been in the touring companies of numerous stage plays, and performed nationally in concerts and cabaret shows.

She will be joined by J. McAndrew Breen, well known in the Washington area for stage appearances and commercial voice-overs, and the choirs of Mayo and Centenary United Methodist churches in singing Broadway favorites, including selections from "The Music Man" arranged by Clay Warnick.

The program will be overseen by James R. Fitzpatrick, pianist and music director of the Mayo church.

The event begins with a reception and silent auction at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for children. The proceeds are earmarked for rebuilding the music program of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shady Side, destroyed in a fire last year.

The Mayo church is off Route 214 (Central Avenue) at 1005 Old Turkey Point Road. Information: 410-798-6110.
