Laurel woman, 75, killed in crash

May 02, 2001

A 75-year-old Laurel woman was killed yesterday morning after the car she was driving left Brock Bridge Road in Laurel and struck two trees.

Anna Mary Miller was headed south on Brock Bridge Road near River Bridge Way about 10:30 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road, crossed the northbound lane and drove off the road. Her 1982 two-door Plymouth Reliant struck the trees and overturned, Anne Arundel County police said.

There was no evidence that Miller, of Federalsburg South, had tried to brake or steer to avoid the accident, police said. Investigators did not suspect speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
