HOWARD CRIME REPORT

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Twin Knolls Road: 5400 block, Oakland Mills. Investigators have determined the cause of a fire April 17 at the Overlook Center to be arson. The fire damaged an elevator and sent smoke from the first to the fourth floor of the building. Damage is estimated at least $150,000.

Millwheel Place: 5600 block, Long Reach. Firefighters responded to an alarm April 27 at a home. The fire started accidentally after food being cooked was left unattended and caused an estimated $130,000 in damage. Two firefighters were injured.

Bendix Road: 9200 block, Long Reach. A door to a business was pried open April 23 and a small amount of cash was stolen.

North Laurel

Davis Ave.: 9300 block. Someone cut locks from doors of a detached storage space April 23 and stole rolls of carpet.

Western Howard

Underwood Road: 1000 block, Sykesville. Someone broke into a home through an unlocked window April 23 and stole electronics and jewelry; tools were stolen from a detached storage shed.
