Leadership group seeking applicants for next program

Leadership Howard County is accepting applications for its next program, which is designed to acquaint private and public sector leaders with county life and to create a network of people who can lead the county in the future.

Candidates who live in Howard County or are affiliated with a Howard County business will be given priority. A candidate must be willing to become involved in enhancing the quality of life in the county, have demonstrated leadership and should hold a position of responsibility within his or her company or association.

The cost of the program is $3,500. Applications must be returned by June 8.

Coldwell Banker Realty Pros wins awards

Coldwell Banker Realty Pros, with offices in Columbia and Ellicott City, won several awards in Tampa, Fla., recently, among them the Coldwell Banker Chairman's Circle.

Administrative group plans conference

The Greater Baltimore chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will hold a conference, "2001: In Pursuit of Space," from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Columbia Sheraton Hotel. An office expo and seminars on the Internet, managing time and creating harmonious environments are planned.

IAAP, formerly Professional Secretaries International, is an association for administrative and other office professionals.

Turf Valley Resort to be on Food Network show

Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center will be featured on the Food Network's "The Best of ... " program at 8:30 p.m. May 7. The recognition follows a $3 million renovation of the facility.
