Some tips about training with weights:

* Always warm up before lifting, either free weights or weight machines. A combination of stretching, a few calisthenics and some jogging is good.

* Keep your back straight.

* Inhale as you prepare to lift so you can breath out when you lift. Do not hold your breathe during a lift. And don't breathe in and out fast; you could faint and lose control.

* Don't exercise any group of muscles more than three times a week, and remember, if you feel pain, stop. Lighten the load. If pain persists, give that part of your body time to recover, sometimes a matter of days.
