Baltimore police arrested 146 people on drug and weapons charges during a three-day operation in Southwest Baltimore that began Friday afternoon and ended Sunday evening.

During "Operation Southwest," officers seized large quantities of marijuana, cocaine and heroin, four handguns, more than $8,200 and 20 vehicles, said Sgt.Timothy Devine, head of the Southwestern District drug enforcement unit.

Devine said some of those arrested attempted to purchase drugs from undercover officers. He said 21 suspects were from Baltimore, Harford and Anne Arundel counties.

Detectives from all nine of the city's police districts participated.
