Credit union opens its second branch in Anne Arundel

Expanding its presence in Anne Arundel County and service to employees of the nearby state Motor Vehicle Administration headquarters, the State Employees Credit Union of Maryland has opened a full-service branch at Chesapeake Center in Glen Burnie.

Tucked behind the Golden Corral restaurant off Ordnance Road, the office is SECU's second in the county. The other is on West Street in Annapolis.

The credit union formerly had an automated teller machine at the MVA. The primary customers of SECU are state government employees and students in the state university system.

Although the Glen Burnie branch opened several weeks ago, its ceremonial opening and ribbon-cutting will be at 4 p.m. today.
