Adam D. Cockey Jr. named to head board of Realtors group

Adam D. Cockey Jr., president of the Maryland Association of Realtors, has been appointed chairman of the board of directors at the largest multiple listing service in the Mid-Atlantic region. Cockey, vice president of the real estate company NRT Mid-Atlantic, will lead the board of Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc., based in Rockville. He has served on the MRIS board since 1998.

More than 125,000 homes were sold last year through MRIS' database, which includes Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington.
