Rinehimer boosts Villa Julie, 12-7

Bob Rinehimer had game highs of three goals and three assists to lead Villa Julie to a 12-7 nonconference win over Randolph-Macon yesterday in men's lacrosse.

Rinehimer led a 4-0 fourth-quarter run with two goals and an assist. That burst turned a 7-5 lead into an 11-5 advantage with 6:58 remaining in the game.

Villa Julie (9-3) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and then scored the first two goals of the second period to go ahead, 5-0. The Yellow Jackets (4-6) cut the margin to 5-2 and traded goals with the Mustangs to make it 6-3 at the half.

Washington College 19, Swarthmore 9: Eric Kuehn and Nick Nylund scored four goals each to lead the Shoremen (7-6, 4-2 Centennial Conference) over the visiting Garnet (3-8, 0-5).

Women

UMBC 11, Towson 4: Renee Tirocchi scored a game-high three goals, including the 100th of her career, to lead the host Retrievers (6-5) to the nonconference victory over the Tigers (5-8).

Katie Pickett also scored three goals for UMBC. Kat Brady led Towson with two goals.

Fairfield 18, Mount St. Mary's 13: The Stags (7-4) used a 9-0 run in the last eight minutes of the first half to push back the Mountaineers (4-11) for the nonconference win.
