Cubs: P Julian Tavarez's five-game suspension for a spring training fight has been upheld, the team announced.

Indians: Activated P Jamie Brown from the 15-day DL and assigned him to Double-A Akron.

Mets: Recalled P Rick Croushore from a rehabilitation assignment, activated him from the 15-day DL and outrighted him to Triple-A Norfolk.

Tigers: Placed 3B Dean Palmer on the 15-day DL, retroactive to April 13. Recalled OF Ryan Jackson from Triple-A Toledo.

Yankees: Called up OF Donzell McDonald from Triple-A Columbus, and sent P Randy Keisler to Columbus.

Somerset (Single-A Atlantic League): Signed former Orioles P Brad Pennington.


Heat: Placed F Anthony Mason on the injured list. Activated F Don Maclean from the injured list.
