`Steam and Gas Show' at History Farm Park

Spend this weekend at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood checking out antique gas and steam engines and restored farm tractors of yesteryear. The event is the "Steam and Gas Show," and visitors can see how a portable sawmill works, cheer on participants in tractor- and horse-driving competitions, enjoy hayrides, browse a flea market, listen to bluegrass music and munch on funnel cakes. And they can learn about Civil War medical care during living-history programs at a Union tent hospital, set up by Company B, 28th Massachusetts Infantry and the Chesapeake Light Infantry.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Derwood is in Montgomery County; the farm park is at 18400 Muncaster Road. Admission is free. Call 301-670-4661.
