"My favorite book is 'Afro-Bets Book of Black Heroes from A to Z' by Wade Hudson. The reason I like this book is because if you have to do a black history report, you can use this book. You can learn about black people and their contributions."

-- Ashley Harlee, Northeast Middle School

"I really enjoyed reading the book 'Helen Keller' by Margaret Davidson. Helen couldn't see, talk or hear because she had scarlet fever when she was very young and it made her blind, mute and deaf. It is a very cool book. I think it is a book that will help you appreciate people with disabilities. "

--Cyndi Gallup, Elmwood Elementary

"I enjoyed reading 'The Knight at Dawn' by Mary Pope Osborne. The main characters in this book are two children named Jack and Annie. One day, they find a tree house filled with books. Jack picks out a book about a castle and somehow they get warped into it. They have to find their way out. I think this is a fantastic book because it has adventure and makes you so excited about what will happen next."

-- Holden Dress, Fulton Elementary
