Howard Crime Report

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.


Clarksville Pike: 13300 block. Someone stole a lawn tractor from a shed behind a home April 8.

East Columbia

Tamar Drive: 8800 block, Long Reach. Someone broke a window to a home March 30 and stole a microwave oven.

Stevens Forest Road: 5700 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone stole a van, jewelry, cash, collectible coins and silver from a home April 7.

Cradlerock Way: 7100 block, Kings Contrivance. Two men entered the Bank of America on April 3 with handguns and announced a robbery. They stole money and fled on foot.

Tamar Drive: 8300 block, Long Reach. Someone pried open the door to a home April 3 and stole jewelry.

Dockside Drive: 7200 block, Owen Brown. A townhouse fire started Saturday after the owner fell asleep while smoking. Damage was estimated at $60,000.

West Columbia

Hickory Ridge Road: 10200 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone kicked in a door to a home April 7 and stole electronics and cash.

Hickory Ridge Road: 10700 block, Hickory Ridge. Police responded to a business alarm at Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital on April 4. Money and narcotics were stolen.

Ellicott City

Heatherside Lane: 7700 block. Someone pried open a sliding glass door to a home April 6 and stole coins and jewelry.

Breconshire Road: 103800 block. Someone entered a home through an unlocked garage April 6 and stole money from a purse in the house and a car parked outside.

North Laurel

Longview Road: 7000 block, North Laurel. A fire caused $150,000 in damage to a single-family home Thursday. The blaze started because of unattended food left cooking on the stove.
