Diamondbacks: Placed former Orioles P Mike Morgan on 15-day DL, retroactive to April 15, with strained right arch. Purchased contract of P Robert Ellis from Triple-A Tucson.

Indians: Signed former Orioles IF Mark Lewis to minor-league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Marlins: Placed OF-1B John Mabry on 15-day DL with possible torn pectoral muscle. Purchased contract of OF-1B Ryan McGuire from Triple-A Calgary. Transferred IF Andy Fox from 15-day to 60-day DL.

Basketball

NBA: Fined Kings G Jason Williams $25,000 for inappropriate conduct directed at fans during game Thursday. Fined Timberwolves F Kevin Garnett $7,500 for making obscene gesture toward game official and failing to leave court in timely manner after ejection in game Sunday.

Cavaliers: Placed G Bimbo Coles on injured list with sprained right thumb. Activated G-F Jim Jackson.

Clippers: Placed F Corey Maggette on injured list with strained right groin. Activated F Zendon Hamilton.

76ers: Signed G Raja Bell to multi-year contract.

Warriors: Re-signed G Chris Garner.

Liberty (WNBA): Signed coach Richie Adubato to contract extension.

Jacksonville State: Accepted invitation to join Ohio Valley Conference in all sports.

North Texas: Named Johnny Jones men's basketball coach.
